Applied Voice Faculty, is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Studio Bella Voce, a comprehensive multi-style vocal studio. She holds a B.M and M.M. in vocal performance from The University of Houston. Ms. Sawyers has enjoyed a diverse career as a singer, actor and teacher. She has served on the music faculty of Lone Star College for twenty years, teaching applied voice, music academics, music theatre, and directing/conducting musical production. Ms. Sawyers is a certified instructor of Contemporary Commercial Music vocal technique. She was a 2008 presenter at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Convention in Nashville, introducing the Collaborative Vocal Studio concept. Ms. Sawyers is the recipient of a Kennedy Center Performance Award, American College Theatre Festival for the role of Maggie of Dancing at Lughnasa (1994) and the Academic Excellence in Teaching Award from Lone Star College.
