Students are required to audition for entrance into the SHSU Dance Program. Auditions are held on the same day as Scholarship/BFA&BA Auditions.
SHSU Dance Scholarship/BFA&BA Auditions are held in November and February each year at Sam Houston State University, Dance Program.

Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs for Dance
Performance scholarships from $250.00 to $1,500.00 are available to students who:
1. Qualify in terms of dance ability.
2. Maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 2.8 and a 3.0 in dance classes.
3. Qualify for and enroll in Intermediate or Advanced Modern Dance Technique and Intermediate or Advanced Ballet Technique.
4. Fulfill all performance assignments.
Students participating will learn a modern dance movement phrase and a classical ballet movement phrase and perform them for dance faculty evaluator.

Saturdays @ Sam is a planned event to help acquaint prospective students with our university. Please make arrangements to come to SHSU and see our campus. Call the Admissions Visitor Center for further information on this event.
