Eric is a Huntsville native and has spent the past decade pursuing a career in web design and development. He has designed and managed multiple websites for a variety of clients from local businesses to a Grammy award-winning artist. With all of his accomplishments, in addition to eight years working at local radio station 101.7 KSAM, Eric is most excited to be a part of the growing SHSU Online team!
Eric feels strongly that good design isnít about how fancy you can make it look or the use of bleeding-edge technology; good design communicates and builds brand integrity. His work ethic shows this philosophy by delivering not only strongly branded web design and development, but also strong skills in social media marketing and online promotion.
Outside of SHSU Eric is a proud father of two growing boys, hosts a Saturday night radio show, and is months away from earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Web Design and Development.
Lauren joined the SHSU Online team in September 2012 as one of several new Web Content Specialists. She holds a dual bachelor's degree in Art History and Communication Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Lauren arrived in Huntsville by way of Austin, after recently completing her Masters of Science in Information Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
Lauren brings over five years of experience working in higher education to her present position. Her varied background includes university catalog production, librarianship and research support services. She is enthusiastic about the intersection of academia and information technology and looks forward to contributing to the dynamic development of SHSU's online presence.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading, blogging and spending time outdoors.
Jeremy Huff, a Huntsville native and 2008 Sam Houston State University graduate with a dual bachelors degree in Philosophy and Criminal Justice, is excited to join the SHSU Online team and return to his alma mater.
Since graduating, Jeremy taught many subjects in the classical discipline, including Latin, Greek and Logic. During this time, Jeremy developed an interest in web and graphic design and began to pursue these as hobbies. As his interest and experience grew, he began to work as a freelance web and graphic designer.
These experiences and his love for communications have him excited to dive into his new role as a web content specialist.
Elliott is a Dallas-Ft. Worth area native and draws experience from a multitude of roles and responsibilities in the field of mass communications.
After receiving a B.A. in Journalism from Texas Tech University in 2008, he moved to the Houston area to begin his career at a daily newspaper. Later, Elliott was offered a position in the public relations department of one of the nationís largest mortgage loan servicing companies, where he played an integral role in the delivery of companywide marketing communications and branding strategies across the nation.
He eventually left the private sector to pursue grassroots communication strategies and freelance writing. Elliott welcomes the challenges of the web content specialist position and is encouraged by the dedication and professionalism of SHSU Online.
