Elisa joined the SHSU Online team in May, 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technology Leadership from the University of Houston.
The daughter of a petrochemical family, Elisa traveled the world as a young girl and landed in Houston in the 1980's. She's been here ever since and considers herself an 'Honorary Texan.'
Elisa came to us from the SHSU Information Technology department where she worked as Director of Client Services since 2010. Previously, she served at the University of Houston where she held dual roles as Web Content Administrator and Interim Executive Director for Marketing and Branding.
Elisa's role at SHSU is the culmination of a 15-year career in education. She is thrilled to be part of the SHSU Online team!
Evelyn Hasouris-Turner is a Senior Administrative Assistant and has been employed at SHSU for 15 years.
She began her career in the Departments of Agriculture and Education as a Secretary I working part-time in both offices beginning in 1997. She worked for those departments until 2007 when she transferred to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as an Administrative Assistant.
Evelyn received the Staff Excellence award in 2009 for her meritorious work in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She was employed in that department until recently when she applied for the Senior Administrative Assistant with SHSU Online and was hired.
She currently processes all of the financial documents pertaining to travel and procurement for SHSU Online, Continuing Education, and Correspondence. She also works with Trina Strange in the administrative operations for the DELTA Center.
Falling in love with Sam Houston State University (SHSU) many years ago as an undergraduate student, receiving a B.A. in Communication and a M.Ed. in Education Administration, he returned to SHSU a few years ago to continue his professional career in higher education. Having had the opportunity to work in the corporate world, K-12 education and higher education, he has enhanced his skills in marketing and leadership. Through the development of his skills and the desire to continue to grow professionally, he is completing his Ph.D. in Leadership and Supervision at Prairie View A&M University. It is his hope to continually combine his education, professional experience and love for people with a workplace that truly feels like home; he is a BEARKAT through and through! Thus, he looks forward to giving back to Sam Houston State University, a place that has given so much to him.
Joelle Olmstead graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She started working for SHSU in 2003 in the Human Resources department where she worked for nine years before beginning her current position working for the Director of Continuing Education and Correspondence and the Executive Director for SHSU - The Woodlands Center. Joelle lives in The Woodlands, Texas.
Mike comes to the SHSU Online team from San Angelo State University.
Mike was born in 1948 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas into an Army family. Before finishing college, he had lived in Kansas, North Carolina, California, Vermont, Alaska, Panama, Puerto Rico, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
He has spent the last forty years in education both as a lifelong student and an administrator. In 1970, Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Catholic University in Washington D.C. prior to entering the U.S. Army. After completing his active service, Mike worked as a civilian educator for the Army Continuing Education System 1973-2003 in Germany, Arizona, Virginia and Texas (Fort Sam Houston); with final assignment (1996-2003) as Director of Education, U.S. Army, Europe (Heidelberg, Germany).
During all of this, Mike also managed to obtain a Master of Education from Boston University as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma in Organizational Leadership.
Mike is married to Pat Meuschel, a registered nurse-manager. He has four grown kids and a miniature Doberman Pinscher named Meatball.
In his free time, Mike enjoys travel, motorcycling, beer education, languages, photography, reading, music, and movies.
Instructional Design Specialist
College of Humanities and Social Sciences

Stacy currently works in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as an Instructional Design Specialist. She has a Master's degree from Texas State University in San Marcos and has worked in the education field for over fifteen years. She has served in many capacities in education including positions as teacher, principal, career and technology advocate and advisor. She has served on many state boards and has an extensive background in non-traditional training and workforce development.
Stacy is ecstatic to be part of the SHSU Online team. She enjoys assisting professors with their developmental planning and overall course needs. She looks forward to watching her own children attend SHSU, too. She resides in Huntsville with her husband David, daughter Tara and son Roby.

Rebecca Turner joined the SHSU Online team in March 2012 supporting the College of Business Administration. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management degree from SHSU in 1995. In 2008, Rebecca received a Teaching Certificate from the State of Texas in Business Education.
Before coming to SHSU, Rebecca was a middle school teacher and an Instructional Technology Specialist for Huntsville ISD.
Instructional Design Specialist

Jay is an Instructional Design Specialist for the College of Fine Arts and Mass Communications. Prior to joining the SHSU Online team, Jay held positions with the Montgomery County Memorial Library System and the Harris County Public Library. She earned a B.A. in English and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from SHSU. Jay also holds an M.S. in Library Science from the University of North Texas.
In addition to spending time with her husband and young son, Jay enjoys playing oboe and violin and volunteering with the Friends of the Willis Library.
