College of Criminal Justice

Daniel Burnham serves as the Instructional Design Specialist for the College of Criminal Justice and is new to the University. He is excited to be a part of the SHSU Online team and looks forward to years of growth.

Before coming to SHSU, Daniel taught U.S. History, Government, and Economics in the Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston. He taught at-risk youths during his teaching career, and was also involved in building the virtual program used by the district. Daniel is certified through the Harris County Department of Education in virtual instruction, and has written, developed and taught online classes, which prepared him for his current position.

Daniel earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and will complete his Master’s in Education Administration and Policy in Fall, 2012. As a lifelong learner, Daniel doubts this will be his last educational venture.

Daniel is the proud father of three amazing children (2 sons and a “babygirl”), the husband of an amazing wife, and is fulfilled with the simplicity of spending time with them. Additionally, he is a political and legal junkie, active in local politics and committed to educational reform in Texas. Daniel loves being involved in the College of Criminal Justice, because it is closely related to his academic passions.
