LECTURE CAPTURE: AS EASY AS PANOPTO!
Your DELTA Center team is in the beginning stages of a pilot program with lecture capture in classrooms. What does this mean to you? This means that you could record the lecture or presentation you are giving to your face-to-face class and then post that same lecture in your online course or as a supplement to your face-to-face class. You only have to remember one word: PANOPTO! Panopto is the name of the software solution that is making this all possible. Once your classroom is Panopto-enabled you will be recording with just a few clicks of the mouse. Be on the look-out for this great lecture capture solution, coming to a classroom near you.

TROUBLE WITH PLAGIARISM IN YOUR ONLINE COURSE? JUST TURNITIN!
If you are concerned about the authenticity of assignments that are submitted or just want to see how parenthetical a quote was, SHSU Online can help with the edition of a Turnitin assignment. If you would like Turnitin added to your course so you can create Turnitin assignments, contact the    DELTA Center and we will get you set-up and ready to go!

Did you know...

ONLINE COURSE ENROLLMENT IS UP ...AGAIN!
Thanks to the cooperative effort of faculty, staff and administrators on campus, we are proud to announce that enrollment is up 129% from the Fall 2009 semester. Current online students represent 18.8% of the 17,276 students at SHSU this semester. Here is a fun fact to wrap your head around:  Since the Fall of 2006, the total percentage increase of unique online students is 458%!

FOSTER COLLABORATIVE LEARNING WITH A FAMILIAR TOOL
Do you want to add a little Web 2.0 spice to your online course(s)? Why not try a wiki, blog or podcast? The Learning Objects tool that you remember from Blackboard can be added to your SHSU Online course, just contact the DELTA Center and request it. Create collaborative project based learning opportunities by having your students develop a wiki, or foster reflection and discussion with a blog. You can have students subscribe to your lectures via the podcast tool, or have them upload their own multimedia content. Use all three weapons in the Web 2.0 arsenal or just start off with one, the choice is yours!

THE PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE
