SHSU Online – The Basics
This session deals with learning the basics of SHSU Online. Become familiar with the course layout, using the text editor and creating/editing course content. Learn how to create content items: text/multimedia, discussion threads and exams as well as dropbox assignments. This course covers everything from getting your syllabus uploaded to communicating with your students.
SHSU Online – Intermediate
This course covers how to use the SHSU Online Gradebook. Additionally, it explains how to schedule the availability of course content per item and across the entire course. The Turnitin Dropbox and Exam Guard plug-in for tests are also covered in this course.
SHSU Online – Advanced Topics
This session will explain how to automate and control the pace at which students can move on to the next content item or course unit using performance condition-based parameters or "Path Building". It also covers how to enable and disable course tools and settings using the Course Admin button. Each Advanced Topics course will have a question based portion of instruction where the attendee can direct the topics covered.
Web 2.0 – Using Wikis, Blogs and Podcasts in your Course
This session will give you a crash course in how to add Web 2.0 Content to your course and provide examples on when and how you would use it. Work from scratch with your own content or use templates to get a head start.
Tegrity – Lecture Capture, Student Recordings and Remote Proctoring
The session title says it all. This hands-on class covers how you can record yourself lecturing, add video and audio to your PowerPoint, capture what you do on your desktop and then publish all of that to your course. Respondus – Moving your Blackboard Tests to SHSU Online
This one hour session will show you how to use Respondus to move your Exams and Quizzes from Blackboard to SHSU Online.
Best Practices – SHSU Online
This session will cover ways to enhance and enliven your course as well as those tips and tricks that just make delivering content easier in your online or supplemental/hybrid course. Attendees will be encouraged to share their own experiences and practices.
