- How do I get a copy of my bill, due dates, & class schedule?
Fee statements are available online through the end of the semester. They are not mailed. After a semester ends, fee statements are no longer available for that semester.

- Is a payment plan available and how do I elect to pay on a payment plan?
A payment plan is available for current due tuition, housing, and dining for the fall and spring semesters. This option is chosen during the registration process. First, log-in to SamWeb. Choose "Student Records" and "Registration". Pull up the applicable semester. Proceed through the program until you see your class schedule. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click "continue to complete registration". Another page will become available, and one of the options will be "1" or "3" payments. If you want the installment plan, select the radio button beside the number "3." Save the installment changes. Read over the promissory note and agree to the terms. Your account will be installments, and this can be verified by viewing a fee statement. Note: Please make sure pop-up blockers are disabled during this process otherwise the promissory note will not be made available.
- How do students make payment online?
From the main webpage, http://www.shsu.edu, link to SamWeb. Login with your preferred username and password. Select "financial system" then "Charges and Payments."
- How can my parents view my account or make payment to my account?
Parents may view and make payment to a student account through the Parent BearKat Account. Students must set up this service for their parents, relatives, guardians, etc... through SamWeb before access is available. To set up a Parent BearKat Account, the student should login to SamWeb, select "Student Records" then "Parent BearKat Account." Once the account set-up is complete, the student will provide a username and password to parents so they can access student information.
- How do I access the Parent BearKat Account now that I have been given a username and password by the student?
From http://www.shsu.edu, link to SamWeb. Click on "Student Records" then "Parent BearKat Account." Enter the username and password combination provided by the student into the Parent BearKat Account webpage. Do not enter the username and password into the SamWeb login.
- What is the definition of "the first class day"?
The first class day for the Fall 2009 Semester is Monday, August 24, 2009. Even if your class does not meet August 24th this is still the first class day. A "class day" refers to University class days. It is not the number of days an individual class meets. Class days are counted from the first class meeting of on-campus daytime courses as indicated in the Academic Calendar.
Example: August 24th is the first class day for the fall 2009 semester even if your particular class doesn't meet until Thursday, August 27th. August 27th will be considered the 4th class day.
- When can I expect to receive my tuition refund for dropping a class?
During the fall and spring semesters, tuition refunds are processed after the twelfth class day. The twelfth class day for the spring semester is Wednesday, January 28, 2009. The twelfth class day for the fall semester is September 9, 2009. Refunds for the spring/fall semester will be processed the weekend after the twelfth class day. Refunds are sent to Higher One, and they will process the refund according to the refund preference designated through the BearKat OneCard.
During the summer semesters, tuition refunds are processed after the fourth class day. The fourth class day for summer I is June 12, 2009. The fourth class day for summer II is July 12, 2009 . Refunds are sent to Higher One, and they will process the refund according to the refund preference designated through the BearKat OneCard.
- If I am taking an distance learning course, how much does it cost?
Please visit "distance learning courses" for information on the cost. After registering for the course, the total due will be available on your fee statement.
