  2. How do I get a copy of my bill?

    Account Summaries by Term are available through Self Service Banner beginning summer 2011.
    Also, E-Bills are loaded periodically to each student's Student Account Center which is accessed through the My Account tab within My Sam
    .

    An E-Bill is a snapshot of your student account on the day it is loaded to the student account center. If changes are made to your student accoun,t the information in the E-Bill will not be accurate until a new E-Bill is loaded.

    Account Summaries and E-Bills are not mailed. 

  3. Which credit cards are accepted for payment?
    MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. E-Check and debit card payments are also accepted online

  4. Is a payment plan available and how do I elect to pay on a payment plan?
    A payment plan is available for current due tuition, housing, and dining. Students may enroll in a plan. Once enrolled, all persons authorized to pay on the student's account will be able to make payments towards the payment plan.

  5. How do students make payment online for spring 2011 and prior terms?
    From the main webpage, http://www.shsu.edu, link to SamWeb. Login with your preferred username and password. Select "financial system" then "Charges and Payments."

  6. How do students make payment online beginning summer 2011?
    From the main webpage, http://www.shsu.edu, access MySam. Choose the "My Account " tab. From here, locate the Bursar's Office Channel and click on the link for the "Student Account Center". 

  7. How can my parents view my account  or make payment to my account?
    Parents may view and make payment to a student account through the Parent BearKat Account for spring 2011.  Students must set up this service for their parents, relatives, guardians, etc...  through SamWeb before access is available.  To set up a Parent BearKat Account, the student should login to SamWeb, select "Student Records" then "Parent BearKat Account." Once the account set-up is complete, the student will provide a username and password to parents so they can access student information.

    Parents may view and make payment to a student account through the Student Account Center beginning summer 2011. New access must be granted by students for all users. The Parent BearKat Account access will not carry over to summer 2011. Students grant access through the Student Account Center which they access through the Student Account area within Self Service Banner (SSB).

  8. As a parent, how do I access my students account now that I have been given a username and password for an Authorized User Account?

  9. What is the definition of "the first class day"?
    The first class day for the Fall 2011 Semester is August 24, 2011. Even if your class does not meet August 25th this is still the first class day. A "class day" refers to University class days. It is not the number of days an individual class meets. Class days are counted from the first class meeting of on-campus daytime courses as indicated in the Academic Calendar.

    Example: August 24th is the first class day for the fall 2011 semester even if your particular class doesn't meet until August 25th.  August 25th will be considered the 2nd class day.

  10. When can I expect to receive my tuition refund for dropping a class?

    During the fall and spring semesters, tuition refunds are processed twice a week. Refunds are no longer held until after the twelfth class day. Please note that changes in your class schedule could result in additional money being due on you account even if your account previously showed a credit balance.  Once refunds are processed, the credit balance is no longer available to pay for additional tuition and fees.  Refunds are sent to Higher One, and they will process the refund according to the refund preference designated through the BearKat OneCard. 


  11. If I am taking an online course, how much does it cost?

    Please visit  "distance learning courses" for information on the cost. After registering for the course, the total due will be available on your fee statement.
