How to Apply Summer II Aid

  • View your fee statement and make sure that your schedule has been protected (shows a due date of July 7, 2008). If it has not been protected then the fee statement will show a payment due date of June 26th and payment is due by 4pm on June 26, 2008. (Summer II aid can not be applied until July 2, 2008.  If you have been awarded aid for Summer II, your fee statement should indicate a payment due date of July 7, 2008. Summer II fee statements will be available March 27th)
  • Starting July 2nd apply your summer II aid online through SamInfo or call 936.294.1083 and ask to have your aid applied.  If you have problems applying your aid, it is suggested that you report to room 103 of Estill Classroom Building on Monday, July 7th.
  • If you try to apply your aid and it is not available, you may wait and try to access it later, BUT if your aid does not become available you must complete one of the following options by 4pm on July 7, 2008 . Your two options are

    1. pay out of pocket or
    2. apply for an emergency loan online through Sam Menu or apply in person on Monday, July 7th on the second floor of Estill Classroom Building. If you are approved for an emergency loan, you must sign your promissory note by 4pm July 7th, and the loan will keep your schedule from being deleted. If your emergency loan is denied or you do not sign the promissory note by 4 pm on July 7th, payment for your balance is still due by 4pm on July 7, 2008.  If you do not sign the promissory note or pay by the due date, your class schedule will be deleted.

Residual Refund Checks

To have financial aid refunds processed before thefourth class day, students need to notify the Univeristy through the Financial Aid Refund Preference link located in SamWeb.  Once funds have been applied and refund preference indicated through SamWeb, any excess money will be processed according to the student preference designated through the student ID card, the Bearkat OneCard. The first day that refunds will be sent is Monday July 7, 2008. Do not travel from out of town to pick up a residual check. Refunds are processed by HigherOne, not the University. The only financial aid refunds that will not be handled through the BearKat OneCard will be Parent Loans. Residual checks left from Parent Loans will be mailed from the University to the parent who obtained the loan. Any questions regarding the disbursement of excess funds should be directed to the Cashier's Office. To reach the cashiers office call 936.294.1080.

If you have not received your BearKat OneCard contact the BearKat OneCard office at 936.294.2273 or stop by their office in the Lowman Student Center, Room 330.
