Mentors

A mentor is a tutor, a teacher, a role model, a trusted guide, and, sometimes, a good friend. Mentors often volunteer, sometimes accidentally as part of the natural evolution of the relationship between someone who knows things that another needs to know. Although the grant has ended, I invite students willing to have their names listed as mentors to contact me and have their names and contact information made available to struggling students. Please indicate what you feel comfortable doing (tutoring freshmen, data structures students, etc., helping students fit into the program and make good choices). Also, indicate whether you expect to be paid for tutoring services.

Mentors should be students with good grades in CS courses (or, better, a clear understanding of programming or other COSC/DFSC topics) who are willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with less experienced students.
