College of Business Administration AACSB Accredited
  31st Annual Academic Awards Ceremony

The Ron and Linda Mafrige Auditorium was standing-room-only during the College of Business Administration’s 31st Annual Academic Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2006. This year an audience of almost 300 individuals watched as 98 scholarships – with a combined value of nearly $100,000 – were awarded to the best and brightest business students on the Sam Houston State University campus.

Several scholarships were provided by members of the business community, including Amegy Bank of Texas, American Bank, The Dow Chemical Company, Daimler/Chrysler Corporation, First Victoria Bank of Texas, and the accounting firms BKD, Ernst & Young, and KPMG.

Benefactors of many privately-endowed scholarships also attended, including Ruth Lynn and Jack Parker, John and Toni Neely, Ed and Genevieve Sandhop, and Jean D. Neal.

The event was organized by a faculty committee chaired by economics professor Dr. George Samuels on behalf of the honorees and their families.
