Curriculum Vita

Assistant Professor of Psychology

The major focus of my research lab is understanding mechanisms of risk and resilience in youth at high-risk for juvenile delinquency and in adolescents already involved in the criminal justice system. We are particularly interested in finding novel factors that promote resilient outcomes (for example, cognitive variables that may be amenable to intervention) and determining how the development of these abilities is influenced by the family, peer, and community environments. Additionally, we have an interest in studying the validity of neuropsychological assessments especially in a forensic population and understanding how variables such as personality, perception of the testing situation, and examiner / examinee interaction impact neuropsychological test performance.
