Minor/Elective Courses

The Master of Education degree requires 36 hours of graduate courses. 12 graduate hours are required core courses. The remaining 24 graduate hours must be taken in a minor or in a minor/electives combinations. Minors may be any content area which is taught in EC - 12 public schools and as a graduate schools program at SHSU. For example, Math may be a minor. Once a student chooses the minor, the student should seek advisement for the minor courses through a graduate advisor in the department in which the courses are taught.

The graduate student may take 24 graduate hours in the minor or 18 graduate hours in the minor with 6 graduate hours of CI electives or 12 graduate hours in the minor with 12 graduate hours of CI electives.
