Applying for EC-4 & 4-8 Content Methods Block
Most Frequntly Asked Questions:
- When can I apply for Content Methods Block?
- You can apply between April 1 and May 1.
- The application site closes on May 1 at 5:00pm and you will not be able to apply on-line after that time.
- How do I apply for the Content Methods Block?
- Go to the Sam Web; sign in; go to student records on the left side of the page; once in student records, go to methods applicatios, and then to either elementary or secondary.
- Be sure that the semester drop down menu is on FALL 08.
- Can I choose where I take methods block?
- There is a place on your application for you to complete:
- If you are EC-4, YES!!! On your application you will choose either Campus (SAM) or the University Center.
- If you are 4-8, NO!!! Your classes will be taught in Willis ISD.
- If you are science or social studies you will take two of your classes in Willis at one of the middle schools. You are very special and may have to take your content methods class either at Sam or the University Center.
- Where will I do my field experience?
- If you are EC-4 and select the University Center, your field experience will be in Conroe.
- If you are EC-4 and select THE SAM campus, your field experience will be in Willis.
- If you are 4-8, your field experience will be either in Willis or Huntsville. You do not get to select your site.
- What do I have to do to be accepted into the Content Methods Block?
- You have to be fully admitted to the Education Preparation Program.
- You have to have successfully completed Reading (Literacy) Block.
- How do I know if I have been admitted to the Content Methods Block?
- You will receive an email telling you the courses in which you have been placed.
- What happens if I am not admitted to Content Methods Block?
- You will receive an email telling you what you still need and how to proceed.
- After I have been admitted to the Content Methods Block what is the next step?
- Once you have received your email telling you the courses in which you have been placed, you must then register for those courses.
