Process for Methods Registration

Applications for Methods Block will open for the Spring 2010 semester on October 1, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. and remain open for application until November 1, 2009 at 5:00 p.m..
If Spring 2010 is the semester in which you plan to take Methods, please make sure that you apply for Methods Block during this time frame.

Application to Methods and the Educator Preparation Program are two separate processes.  Please understand that your application to Methods has NOTHING to do with your acceptance to the Educator Preparation Program.  If you are planning on taking Methods in Spring 2010 and are not currently fully accepted into the Education Preparation Program, but anticipate that you will be fully accepted into the Educator Preparation Program prior to the beginning of the Spring 2010 semester, you MUST apply for methods during the Fall 2009 Methods Registration period.

Directions for application are as follows:

•       Sign into SamWeb
•       Link into student records
•       Scroll down to
•       Methods applications
•       Choose the correct drop down box, elementary or secondary
•       Make sure that the year is 2010.  The system will default to 2009, so you will     need change it to 2010
•       Link into that and from there it will walk you through filling out the application

When you get to this page make certain that the semester says Spring and the year is 2010.

Completing the "County" field is not essential for the Methods semester, but you may want to put the county you are planning to request for student teaching the following semester.  This is used for informational purposes for the Office of Field Experience in planning for the student teaching semester.

Please include any comments that you think will help us in getting you registered into Methods Block.  Also, please make certain that you specify either MWF or T/TH.  This is very important.  You are not guaranteed a section or a day, but we will try our best to accommodate you. If you haven’t met the qualifications to be placed in Methods Block, your application will be held until such time that you are ready; and then, when you are ready, you will be placed where there is room available.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call (936) 294-3896
