Undergraduate and graduate degree programs have been structured and aligned to the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities Standards and Technology Applications . Standards required by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). Preparation of future teachers is a collaborative effort with thirty-nine school districts who are part of the Sam Houston Innovative Partnerships with Schools (SHIPS). Future teachers will demonstrate the skills, knowledge and dispositions necessary to create a positive learning environment. Employing a variety of technologies, these future teachers will learn to plan, implement, assess, and modify instruction to meet the needs of the diverse learners in the Texas public schools.
