All of my students have been mentored and prepared for prestigious doctoral programs or careers in research or academia.


Laurieanne Dent (M.S. May 2001)
B.S. in Biology,  Texas Christain University, 1991

Research Interests:  Physiological Ecology, Ichthyology
Thesis:  Comparative thermal physiology of two sympatric Centrarchids with a discussion of microhabitat utilization.

Next Position:  Ph.D. student under the direction of Dr. Carl Hopkins at Cornell University.

   


Daniel S. Millican (M.S. August 2001)
B.S. in Biology,  Sam Houston State University, 1990

Research Interests:  Physiological Ecology, Invertebrate Biology
Thesis:  Moisture and temperature relations of endemic and exotic earthworms inhabiting unmanaged sites in southeast Texas.

Next Position:  Ph.D. student under the direction of Dr. Christopher M. Taylor at Mississippi State University.

Research Interests:  Physiological Ecology, Herpetology
Thesis:  The effects of melatonin on the Diamondback Water Snake, Nerodia rhombifer.

Next Position:  Biology instructor at Blinn Community College in Brenham, Texas.


Dennis K. Wasko (M.S. December 2002)
B.S. in Biology,  Rowan University, 1999

Research Interests:  Ecology, Herpetology
Thesis:  Assemblage structure and seasonal activity of a herpetofaunal community in eastern Texas.

Next Position:  Ph.D. student under the direction of Dr. Don DeAngelis at the University of Miami.

    


Sidney M. Anderson (M.S. December 2003)
B.S. in Biology,  University of Texas at Tyler, 1990

Research Interests:  Physiological Ecology, Parasitology
Thesis:  Helminth community structure in two Lepomid species (Osteichthyes: Centrarchidae) from an urban watershed.

Next Position:  Research technician at the Texas Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at Texas A&M University.
