Frank Golden
Lecturer Art Building A, R105 936.294.1321 fgolden@shsu.edu Teaching Area: Graphic Design and Photography I grew up in south Louisiana where I went to High School and College. I graduated with a BA in Graphic Design from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. I received my MFA from the University of Houston in 1992. For most of my adult life I have worked as a freelance photographer and teacher. It is easy to define oneself as an artist today. I do not, I am a teacher. I make art for myself. I create things that speak to me through personal symbols and metaphors. I have no illusions about anyone understanding these, without destroying them with explanation. I seek out unusual points of view, whether visually, intellectually or emotionally. I find art in everything from the accepted mediums to the pattern of my footprints I leave in the dirt. Creativity is what separates us from the cows. |
