Emmette Jackson
Professor
Emmette Jackson joined the photography faculty of Sam Houston State University in August of 1975. Prior to 1975, he was a Photography Instructor at Daytona Beach Community College for 4 years, after receiving his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree, with an emphasis in photography, from Ohio University in 1971. His Doctor of Education degree (EdD) was awarded by Texas A & M University in 1982. Following receipt of this degree, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree, in Professional Photography, from Brooks Institute of Photography, in 1983.
For 21 years (1981-2002), he served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Texas School of Professional Photography (TSPP), a professional photography school operated by the Texas Professional Photographers Association (TPPA). Dr. Jackson, with the assistance of other TSPP trustees, has been a staunch supporter of student careers in professional photography. Dr. Jackson now teaches courses in general beginning Photography (Photography 230) and in the basic application of digital photographic manipulation (Photo 233). Research interests involve studying the preservation of digitally produced photographic images. |
