The Art degrees are BA and BFA and have entry level,
intermediate and advanced coursework.
The entry level courses or portal
to the Art degrees are called the WASH block. The 3 course
block
consists of a 2D design, a 3D design and a contemporary Art survey course, all
taken
the same
semester. The students in one section are together as a group for all 3.
The intermediate work is a core group of courses that are
prerequisites for advanced courses.
This 2nd core also prepares the students for the
BFA review. This review is conducted once per
semester,
for non Graphic Design students, and at this time is restricted to those
students who
wish to
earn a BFA degree. Graphic Design students will participate in a single yearly
review -
currently
scheduled for the Fall semester of 2011 – in December after the
completion of
the 335
course. (Participation in that 2011 review is restricted to students who complete
both
Art 234 and 335 in the 2011 year).
The advanced work is that which fulfills either degree after
the
intermediate art core group.
