Humble High School’s Jeffery Allen Logan was awarded the first Winnie Laurene Ragsdale Scholarship by the endowment’s namesake during the HHS annual alumni banquet on June 14.
Established by John R. Ragsdale in honor of his mother, the Winnie Laurene Ragsdale Scholarship Endowment will provide a $5,000 scholarship for an SHSU student from the Humble area.
John Ragsdale recently donated $1.25 million to three different university programs benefiting former, current and prospective students. One million dollars was used to establish the John R. Ragsdale Alumni Enrichment Endowment Fund to support the work of the Office of Alumni Relations.

Alumni & Friends gathered at Alley Theatre in Houston, TX on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 for a reception and show. There were over 100 attendees. (See photos here)

Welcome, TX Alumni & Friends Event
Thursday, May 22, 2008 the SHSU Alumni Association hosted an outdoor BBQ for the Washington and Austin County Alumni. More than 150 alumni & friends were in attendance. Sponsors for the event were Erich Glenewinkel, Bob Haberman, Allen Kuehn, Donald Spiess, and Clyde Vierus. (see photos here)
