Maurice G. Wilkinson
was graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1972.
She earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University
in 1976.
A native of Pasadena, she practiced in Flatonia from
1977-91 and in Shiner since 1980.
In 1993 she was selected National Rural Health Practitioner
of the Year. She also has been named to "Who's Who in
the South and Southwest," "Personalities of the South"
and "Outstanding Young Women of America."
Her memberships include state and national medical,
family practice and rural health associations, and national
colleges and societies for sports medicine, geriatrics,
emergency medicine and clinical hypnosis.
"Doctors help millions of Americans and make vital
contributions to the quality of health care delivered
in the United States," President Bill Clinton wrote
in a congratulatory letter concerning her 1993 honor.
"Your commitment to bringing health services to rural
America has improved the lives of many, and you can
take great pride in that accomplishment."
