3rd Annual Life Member Celebration set for Thursday, February 21, 2013
The 3rd annual Life Member Celebration will be hosted by the SHSU Alumni Association on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott (The Woodlands, TX). Formal invitations will be mailed in early January to all Life Members.
The Life Member program is the foundation of the Alumni Association, fulfilling its purpose of strengthening the Alumni Association’s permanent endowment and providing future growth and development of programs and projects to benefit members and the university.
The past fiscal year the Life Member program saw its most significant growth-to-date with more than 300 new members in just 12 months. The Life Member Endowment now exceeds $1.4 million.
In 2013, the Life Membr program will hit another milestone by welcoming its 2,000th member to this elite group of alumni.
Becoming a Life Member of the Alumni Association is also a great way to stay connected with other alumni who truly care about Sam Houston State University.

Tailgating continues Dec. 1 for the FCS Play-offs
Join the SHSU Alumni Association at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 1st for a pre-game tailgate party in Bearkat Alley. For the second consecutive year your Sam Houston Bearkats will compete in the FCS Division I play-offs taking on Cal-Poly at 3:00 PM.

Annual New York Alumni and Friends Trip set for November 27, 2012 through November 30, 2012
There is no other place in the world like New York City during the holidays especially at the Waldorf=Astoria. This year you have the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable holiday experience through the SHSU Alumni Association’s “Holiday in New York” package scheduled during the annual Tree Lighting ceremony in Rockefeller Plaza.
If you have never seen the tree lighting in person, this is a great opportunity to join University President Dana Gibson along with other Bearkats and witness a great New York tradition. You can also participate in many other iconic holiday festivities including touring the window displays on Fifth Avenue or attending the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.
This year’s annual New York Alumni and Friends Travel package and Alumni Dinner will take place from Tuesday, November 27, 2012, through Friday, November 30, 2012, with the alumni dinner to be held on Thursday, November 29th. The host hotel for lodging accommodations, as well as for the alumni dinner, is the world famous WALDORF=ASTORIA.
