Research:
Thesis: “Removal of Ammonia from Aqueous Solutions using Ion-
Exchange”. The work focused on trying to improve the ammonia
removal process (ARP) developed by Foster Wheeler Environmental and
ThermoEnergy by changing various operating conditions. The conditions
tested were the use of various ion-exchange resins, using a lower
concentration of ammonia in the waste effluent, heating the ammonia
influent to 60 °C and 68 °C, adjusting the pH of the ammonia
solution during ion-exchange and increasing the zinc concentration
of the regeneration solution.
