International Environmental Best Practices Conference
will be held August 7-10, 2006, in Olsztyn, Poland.
According
to the official web site, "the objective of this joint
conference of environmental best practices is to bring together
researchers from academic, governmental and industrial institutions
to discuss new developments and results in the fields of environmental
remediation, wastewater treatment, alternative energy sources
and environmental stewardship."

The Sam Houston
State University Analytical Laboratory, a part of the Texas Research
Institute for Environmental Studies (TRIES), provides quality
analytical testing to the federal, state, commercial, industrial,
residential and academic communities.
A variety
of testing services are available for ground and surface water,
drinking water, wastewater, hazardous waste, soil/sludge, hay,
forage and leaf tissue.
Services provided through the Analytical Laboratory include consulting,
development, sample collection and waste characterization. The
laboratory also provides research and educational services to
the university community (faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate
students) through collaborative efforts in contract and grant
proposals, and special projects.
