Dan Phillips Speaks to Student Home Builders

Dan Phillips, an innovative homebuilder in the Huntsville area, was the featured guest speaker at the SHSU Chapter of the National Association of Home Builder's second meeting of the year. Mr. Phillips continues to test the limits of conventional construction, using unusual materials and original designs. All of his projects stress the importance of green design and he truly proves that one man's trash is another man's treasure. Phillips uses primarily donated and found materials for his low cost housing.

NAHB students plan to continue featuring exciting and informational guest speakers in the upcoming meetings. The organization is also working on a civic program to promote awareness of the Industrial Technology Program at Sam Houston State . Members will be attending the Huntsville High School College and Career Fair on February 24. The fair will educate potential recruits about the opportunities and careers available through the SHSU Industrial Technology Program.
