Student Teachers Begin
Field Experience
For over 80 years, Sam Houston State University has prepared
students to enter the vocational agriculture/agricultural science
teaching profession. Almost 2900 students have passed through
the program and the Fall 2003 semester includes a class of
11 students pursuing teacher certification.
After completing five weeks of intense instruction on teaching
methods and the responsibilities of a professional educator,
the student teaching block began their 12-week placement at
schools throughout Texas. The student teachers listed below
are part of this semester’s elite group who plan to make
a career of educating middle school and secondary students
about agriculture. Their hometown high school is followed by
their field experience school and mentor teacher.
