Hanagriff Receives Grants from TDA
For the third year in a row, Dr. Roger Hanagriff, Assistant
Professor of Agricultural Economics, has received funding from
the Texas Department of Agriculture to analyze the effectiveness
of their various marketing programs. The grants allow Hanagriff
to develop and analyze responses from questionnaires regarding
various aspects of the highly popular Go TEPP and Go Texan campaigns
as well as a new rural development project called 'Texas Yes'.
Other SHSU faculty members working with Hanagriff on TDA projects
are Dr. Dwayne Pavelock, Dr. Carolyn Robinson, Dr. Doug Ullrich,
and Dr. Kevin Smith. Dr. Tim Murphy of Texas A&M University
and Dr. Charlie Hall from the University of Tennessee have also
provided input on the projects. The reports provided by Hanagriff
and associates are shared with members of the state legislature
in seeking additional support to expand existing markets and
create new ones for Texas agricultural products. "These projects
are very beneficial to the agricultural producers of our state
and I'm pleased that TDA has displayed continued confidence in
me and my colleagues to compile and provide such essential information," says
Hanagriff. "The projects continue to provide additional opportunities
for us to meet some of the needs of Texas agriculture and gives
our students a unique opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge
about the effectiveness of various agricultural marketing strategies."
