Sam Houston State University’s Annual Giving office will join more than 100 educational institutions worldwide to participate in Student Engagement and Philanthropy Month on “Thank a Donor Day,” Wednesday, Feb. 28, by encouraging students to sign thank you cards and send shout outs to SHSU's donors from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Lowman Student Center mall area. T-shirts, for the first 200 students, and other freebies will be awarded.

“Sam Houston wouldn’t be what it is without their generous contributions, and many students probably don’t realize how much donors actually give to the university,” Meggan Thompson, assistant director of annual giving said. “This event gives students the opportunity to show their appreciation.”

Annual Giving is a program of the SHSU Division of University Advancement that serves the university by building relationships with diverse alumni, donors, and external constituents that encourage and generate investment in support of the university and its mission. The day is designed to increase student understanding of philanthropy and recognize those that support SHSU through their contributions.
