“Transfer Scholarships”
In general, transfer students are eligible for most scholarships at Sam Houston State University. General scholarship information and applications forms may be obtained here.
Several “grant” based scholarships including NSF grant based scholarships include the PEERS Program (Peers Enhancing their Education through Research and Scholarship) providing up to $5,000 per year for two years in Biology, Geography & Geology, and Mathematics & Statistics.
A “Texas Youth in Technology” grant provides support for high school and college technology programs including transfer scholarships in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, and Information Assurance.
NSF Science Scholarship Opportunities at SHSU
The Carnegie Commission on Higher Education has ranked Sam Houston State University a "Doctoral Research University." This classification distinguishes the university by placing it in the top 7 percent of all 4,391 ranked private and public institutions of higher education in the United States.
