Counseling Center (CC)
Sometimes as a university student, you might feel the need to talk to someone who can help you better understand decisions you face or those you have made. The on-campus Counseling Center provides you with a welcoming, confidential place to discuss your challenges and concerns with a professional counselor.
Services at the Counseling Center include:
- Individual counseling
- Group counseling
- Alcohol and drug abuse assistance
- Career exploration, testing, and guidance
Disability Services (SSD)
One of SHSU's biggest strengths is the diversity of its student body. This diversity exists in many forms, including students who come to campus with any disability. Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) exists to support these students so that they can have the complete SHSU experience. Our goal is to create a campus community in which students with disabilities are able to participate fully in university programs and activities, and are valued as contributing members to SHSU.
Some of the many services provided by Services for Students with Disabilities include:
- Coordinating academic accommodations
- Adaptive technology lab
- Sign language interpretation
- ADA compliance
- Advocacy and education
