Kinesiology, Bachelor of Science

The curriculum of the Bachelor of Science in kinesiology integrates the physiological, bio-mechanical, and psycho-social bases of movement. Students develop their own movement skills which transition into a focus on movement analysis, physiological function, and skill assessment. Students finish the program with strong theoretical and problem solving skills based on a comprehensive knowledge of movement and exercise science.

Internships

Students pursuing either exercise science concentration complete a professionally supervised 6-credit, 400-hour internship.

Concentrations

The clinical exercise science concentration focuses on clinical and research settings. This is also the pre-physical therapy, chiropractic, or occupational therapy degree.

The kinesiology-generalist concentration provides students with training in general movement and sports science. Students can select from a wide variety of minors with this concentration.

Students pursuing physical education teacher education will double major in kinesiology and secondary education.

Combined 3+2 Bachelor's and Master's Degrees

Work towards your master's degree while earning your bachelor's.

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Science can be earned in conjunction with the Masters of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) degree via the 3+2 accelerated combined degree program, which allows some graduate-level work to count towards your bachelor’s degree.
