Non-SHSU employees or students that want to ride the shuttle from SHSU:

For persons wanting to ride the shuttle from the SHSU shuttle locations, a parking decal must be purchased to park on campus for the reduced rate parking lot. To purchase a parking decal: (a) visit the Cashiers Office (Estill Bldg., Room 103 hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm) on campus to pay the $25.00 parking decal rate and complete a form for our records; (b) visit the University Police Department office (Sam South location) with your paid receipt to receive a parking decal; (c) purchase shuttle tickets at one of listed locations on campus or other shuttle stops.

The parking decal is valid until August 2009.

Can anyone ride the shuttle?
The shuttle is public transportation and is not limited to students, staff, and faculty.

What is the shuttle capacity?
57 seated passengers, more can stand.

What if the shuttle is filled to capacity?
We are very excited about Sam Shuttle, and we ask everyone to please remember that this is a new program and we will need everyone's patience. We have no way of measuring the initial demand of the shuttle and as demand increases we can look at increasing the service.  This is an interlocal agreement between five entities with The District and all changes that are made to the service schedule must be approved by all five entities.

If you find that the shuttle is filled to capacity, look around at the people in line and realize they may be able to carpool for that one time--this too would be a cost savings for you.

Are there any discounts for children?
No

Where do I inquire about employment with the shuttle?
www.btd.org

What benefits do I receive from riding the shuttle?
Save on gas, Better on the environment, Meet new people

Time management - read and study on the commute

Who do I call if I leave something on the shuttle?
The District at 1 (800)272-0039

In the case of an accident who will be responsible?
The District assumes liability. In case of a breakdown another bus will be sent with a possibly delay in schedule. University personnel will handle on-campus notification of delays.
