Introduction and Purpose Statement
Chemicals are used to manufacture many materials and objects that are important in the lifestyles of the employees and their families, whom work for Sam Houston State University. But as helpful as chemicals are, some of the ones used by the university can be dangerous without the right care and training.
Sam Houston State University is committed to the education and training of all affected employees who work and handle chemicals. The university will enforce it's policy on ensuring that each employee's rights are fully protected under the Texas Hazard Communication Act Chapter 502 of the Health and Safety Code and the Public Employer Community Right-To-Know Act.
The pages following will outline the University's written training program and will discuss the university's policies on each required part of the Hazard Communication Act Training for each employee.
