The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree is an interdisciplinary degree that allows students to design a curriculum that meets individual goals by connecting three Sam Houston State University minors, a capstone General Studies course, the Texas core curriculum, and appropriate supporting elective courses. During the senior year, BGS majors will complete the capstone course (UNIV 4301) in which the student will complete a project that requires the integration of knowledge and ideas from the three areas of study. The BGS may now be earned as a fully online degree.
Advising for students in the BGS program is now available in the Student Advising and Mentoring Center. You may also explore BGS degree options on your own using the "What If" Degree Audit in DegreeWorks.
