Declaration of Major

An undergraduate student declares General Studies as his or her major by completing the Bachelor of General Studies Declaration of Major form. This form must be signed by both the student's academic advisor and the coordinator of the Bachelor of General Studies program, Dr. Bill Hyman, and then returned to the SHSU Registrar's Office.

A student in the Bachelor of General Studies program selects three undergraduate minors from a list of eligible minors when completing the Declaration of Major form; the list of minors is also available on this page by clicking the "Available Minors" button below. Certain minor combinations may not be allowed if coursework is duplicative.  Please consult with the BGS program coordinator to insure that the proposed combination of minors is appropriate.
