Degree Program Overview

The Banking and Financial Institutions Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) at Sam Houston State University is leading the way for students to enter into careers ahead of their peers.  We have the latest technology available in our banking center, including teleconferencing, internet connections at each table, LED picture wall, and stock ticker quotes delayed only 15 minutes from Wall Street.  Our program brings you the best practical experience with academic training from faculty with banking experience.  We have successfully placed over 500 graduates in banking positions.

Coursework

Students wishing to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Financial Institutions are required to have a 2.0 GPA in the following:

  • SHSU GPA
  • Cumulative GPA (SHSU and transfer)
  • SHSU business courses
  • Cumulative business courses (SHSU and transfer)

At least 50 percent of the required business curriculum for the B.B.A. degree must be taken in residence at Sam Houston State University
