The BA in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Film offers you the chance to interact closely with faculty who have domestic and international film experience.

Whether you want to write, direct, produce, design, edit, or shoot, you can get your first shot in Sam Houston’s Film Program. The Film Production track of the Mass Communication major provides students with an excellent liberal arts education from a renown department with a high degree of student-faculty interaction, a wide variety of hands-on courses, state-of-the-art facilities located in the Dan Rather Communications Building, and worldwide networking opportunities. Students will be prepared for a career in motion picture and media production in a diverse, multi-cultural, and rapidly changing media world.

Coursework

The Film Production Program provides students interested in digital cinema with fundamental production and post-production skills, as well as knowledge designed to prepare them for an exciting career in the filmmaking industry.
