The
Bearkat OneCard is the official ID of SamHouston
State University. The Bearkat OneCard signifies
your status as anactive member of the Sam Houston
State University community, serving as your official
student identification card and much more.
You are expected to have your Bearkat OneCard
with you at all times on campus.
Your first BearkatOneCard is provided to all registered
students, Staff and Faculty of the University
at no charge and serves as the official identification
card of the University.
Activating
the Bearkat OneCard will grant you access
to
the many privileges offered to the students of
Sam
Houston
State University.

Applying Financial Aid
The Bearkat Onecard is an ID card with a free debit option for individuals who would like to take advantage of it.
For students your Bearkat OneCard will be valid any semester you are registered, for faculty/staff, it will be valid for the duration of employment at the University.
It is University Policy that ID cards be with you at all time for identification purposes campus.
Students: All registered students must have an active Bearkat One Card. If a cardholder leaves and comes back within one year, the Bearkat OneCard from the previous enrollment period will be active.
Bearkat OneCards can continue to be used to access One Account even after graduation and upon leaving the University, all other campus uses will be suspended.
Faculty/Staff : Faculty & Staff include both part-time and full-time employees. All employees are eligible for a Bearkat OneCard once their human resources and payroll information has been entered into the SAM Menu.
Employee status takes precedence over student status for the purpose of missing cards.
The Bearkat OneCard and its access privileges will expire the day of last employment. If you choose to open a OneAccount you may continue to use your OneAccount even after leaving the university.
Card Information: ID Cards provide the following information:
- Status with University: Student, Faculty/Staff, or FSSr
- Photograph & Name
- Student Identification Number
- Electronic verification of status for:
Recreational Sports/HKC events
Residential Life Building access
Access to OneAccount funds
Meal Plan accounts & Bearkat Bucks
Athletic Event Access
Student Activities Events
Off-campus use: The Bearkat OneCard can be used like a check wherever MasterCard is accepted -30 million locations worldwide (funds must be deposited into a OneAccount prior to usage).
