What is a refund preference and what are my options?

A refund preference is the method you choose to receive

money owed to you from the University.

Refunds can include, but are not limited to: excess financial aid money,

dropped class refunds, and residence hall deposits.

When you activate your Bearkat OneCard you are

presented with three refund options that include.

The chart below explains the chooses and the time period associatied with each one.  NOTE:  The time period associated with this chart is for refund disbursements only.  This does not represent payroll options.

Easy Refund: Receive the money immediately into your

OneAccount. The OneAccount is a FREE FDIC insured

checking account, and your Bearkat OneCard can be used

wherever Debit MasterCard® is accepted.

Note: You can only receive an Easy Refund if you have OneAccount.

3rd Party ACH: Have your money deposited into any

bank account you designate. Funds will be available in 2-3

business days.

Paper Check: Receive a paper check by mail. Funds will

be available in 5-7 business days.
