Articulation Agreement for 2006 and 2008 Catalogue Years

The College of Business Administration offers undergraduate students the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. Students have the option of selecting from nine majors and eleven minors:

Degree Requirements

The degree requirements for the freshman and sophomore years are essentially the same for all of the majors available with the BBA degree. Following is a listing of the first two years of the BBA program. The courses are given in terms of the common course numbers and the SHSU course number.     Effective Fall 2006, first time college/university students must satisfy the following requirements before being allowed to enroll in upper-division (300- and 400-level) business courses:
  • Complete the following courses with at least a 2.0 GPA:
    • Accounting (ACC) 231 and 232 (ACCT 2401 and 2402)
    • Business Analysis (BAN) 232 (BUSI 2372)
    • Economics (ECO) 233 and 234 (ECON 2302 and 2301)
    • Math (MTH) 199 (MATH 1324)
  • Complete at least 50 semester hours
  • Earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 on all college level work attempted

 

A maximum of 66 credit hours (excluding kinesiology) may be transferred from a community college to Sam Houston State University. Students should carefully select courses to complete the associate degree while minimizing the number of hours that might exceed the 66 hour cap for transfer credit. Applications for admission to SHSU may be obtained on line at https://www.applytexas.org/ or by calling Undergraduate Admissions at (936) 294-1828. Extensive information is also available on the SHSU web site at http://www.shsu.edu/. Evaluations are based on each institutions catalogues. The respective catalogues selected for graduation are the final word if a discrepancy appears between this pamphlet and a catalogue.

Enrollment in ACC 365 (Intermediate Accounting) requires the completion of ACC 231 and ACC 232 with a minimum grade of C in each.

All parties to this agreement are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
