Continue Your Educational Journey

Once you choose the graduate program that's right for you, follow the steps below to begin an exciting new chapter:

  • Complete the admissions application for Spring 2027 on ApplyTexas
  • Summer or Fall 2027 and Spring 2028, complete the application on GradCAS.
  • Pay the $50 ($90 for international students) application fee.

  • The minimum requirement for admission to any graduate program is a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution, or an equivalent credential from a foreign institution, completed prior to the admission term. Some programs may have specific admission requirements and deadlines (refer to academic information pages for more details)

  • Graduate applications are evaluated holistically based on program requirements. Candidates must meet a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 although many programs require at least a 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA.

International applicants are required to submit additional materials. Learn more here.

SHSU allows you to upload copies of transcripts while applying.

Official Baccalaureate degree conferral transcripts(s) will be required to remove a transcript hold on your account. Uploaded copies of transcripts are not official:

  • Transcripts can be sent electronically to graduate@shsu.edu (Code: 003606). SHSU students do not need to submit official SHSU transcripts.
  • Or transcripts can be mailed to:
