Taylor Tompkins is this month’s GCJD Alumni of the Month. Tompkins is currently working as the Marketing Coordinator for Emerus Holdings, Inc. in The Woodlands, TX.  She assists in the brand management and outreach programs for the firm. Tompkins was recently awarded the "Bravo Award" in February 2016 for exemplary work.

During her time at Sam Houston State University, Tompkins was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity where she was Panhellenic Delegate in 2013 and President in 2014, National Broadcasting Society, Radio DJ for The Kat in 2013, Lead Producer for Cable 7 News in 2015, and worked part time as a Marketing Assistant for The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in 2015. Tompkins graduated Cum Laude with Bachelor of Arts in Multiplatform Journalism and a minor in Political Science.

“The GCJD class was a real eye opening and valuable experience. With each project we worked on, each student had an integral part in making that event possible. One thing that I really appreciated was being assigned tasks that may not have been my biggest strength but getting out of my comfort zone and doing my best to support the whole group to make the event a success. Kelli Arena was a huge help and mentor towards the end of my college career when I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for ‘the rest of my life’. I really appreciated her mentoring.”
