GCJD participated in a training conference for law enforcement leaders led by the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT).
Stephen Green (left), a reporter for the Conroe Courier, represented GCJD at this conference. Green is the education reporter for Houston Community Newspapers’ North Group, which includes The Courier of Montgomery County and The Woodlands Villager. Prior to that, he was the city government and education reporter for The Huntsville Item where he won several awards for his feature and in-depth education reporting. At both newspapers, he has experience reporting on crime and police matters, both in breaking news situations and daily beat reporting.
GCJD will continue to work with law enforcement to improve their relationship with the press and to get credible and accurate information to the public as quickly as possible.
