Art Reception: We ART here, ART WALK

Public Reception, video screening and performances will be held Friday November 16th, 7 ? 10pm

The SHSU Student Art Association is pleased to announce the 2012, We Art Here, Art Walk to be held November 11th-17th, at 1215 Sam Houston Avenue in the historic Avon Theater/McAdams Dry Goods Store windows between 12th and 13th street. There will be a public reception Friday, November 16th, 7:00pm to 10:00pm where video screenings and performances will take place and the artists will be available for discussion with the community. The event will feature work by current SHSU art students and alumni working in various media. There will be four storefront window installations, an exhibition inside the Avenue L coffeehouse as well as outside site-specific installations between HCC and the Donut Wheel and video and performance pieces the night of the opening reception. The 2012 We Art Here, Art Walk is the first effort by SAA to coordinate a night of art in the community but this will be the second time the students in the art department host the event.
