Must R.S.V.P. to ensure a seat http://www.shsu.edu/convocation 3:45 PM Ceremony Guest Seating in the James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center 4:00 PM Ceremony Begins 4:30 PM Dinner in the LSC and on the LSC Mall New Student Convocation is the official welcome for all new students entering into the Sam Houston State University academic community. It serves as the ceremonial start for our new students, just as commencement serves as the ceremonial finish for our seniors. Attire is casual for students and guests.
