March on Washington Commemoration

March on Washington Commemoration: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Farrington Pit. The SHSU History Department will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington with Dallas-based artist Ronald Oliver, who will produce an original oil painting to celebrate the march, and musician Biola Rotibi, who will play freedom songs. Participating scholars and students also will be invited to read excerpts from speeches given that day.
