End: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 12:00 PM

a Sam Houston Memorial Museum presentation and demonstration, from 9 a.m. to noon at Bear Bend Cabin, on the museum grounds. Museum staff will explore the use of tin during the Texas pioneer days, who created designs from the material to make things such as candle holders and pie safes to decorate their homes. Attendees will be able to try their hands at creating tin-punched crafts, beginning at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. All ages are welcome; although children must be accompanied by an attentive adult. Attendees are encouraged to bring a hammer or mallet if you have one. A $5 recommended donation per person. For more information call 936.294.4895 or 936.294.3936, or for more information on any of the museum events, contact marketing coordinator Megan Buro at 936.294.3839 or visit the museum on Facebook.
