Huntsville, Tx August 30, 2007 -
The initial funding for the Go Kats Go Center was received through a grant from the Texas Pioneer Foundation. The foundation awarded SHSU with $127,00 for the purchases of a 42 foot trailer, a Ford F350 dual wheel truck, satellite, and 17 laptop computers with chairs. The unveiling of the mobile unit was at the tailgate party for the first 2007 Sam Houston State University football game on August 30, 2007. Dr. Charles Matthews, Chancellor of The Texas State University System cut the ribbon in front of the customized Go Kats Go Center.
