Programming Coordinator - Megan Richardson, MPH, CPH
A native of North Carolina, Megan received her B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Master of Public Health from East Carolina University before moving to Texas to join the Student Health Center team in 2016. At SHSU, Megan serves as the programming coordinator for the Health Center and works to provide quality health education programs to the campus community. Brittani
Health Education Specialist – Brittani Clarkson, MPH
Brittani Clarkson grew up in San Antonio, TX with her parents and 8 siblings. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou) in 2011 where she majored in Health Sciences and minored in Human Development and Family Studies. After graduation and a short service term with AmeriCorps, Brittani began her career in public health with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Public Health Associates Program which brought her back to Texas. Since then, she has worked at both Harris County and Montgomery County’s Health Departments. Brittani completed her Masters of Public Health with a concentration in Health Promotions from Liberty University in December 2016. Brittani loves to spend her free time traveling, playing with her son, hiking with her husband, or just sitting on the couch. Brittani is extremely excited to join the Health Promotion team and is looking forward to using her knowledge and experience to better serve and educate the students of SHSU. Melissa
Graduate Assistant – Melissa Briones, B.A.
Melissa grew up in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV), a region in Texas separated from Mexico by the Rio Grande River, where she completed a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Texas-RGV. She is a student in the Clinical Psychology M.A. program. Her goals while at SHSU are to promote responsible drinking and bring awareness to students on the immediate effects of drug and alcohol.
